The Imo State Governor,ย Senator Hope Uzodimma hasย disclosed that the state is long overdue to have an Airforce Secondary School.
The governor gave the assertion in a statement on Monday.
According to Governor Uzodimma during the courtesy visit of the Imo State Born Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command Enugu, Air Vice-Marshal Frank Okpara, at the Government House Newly Commissioned Exco Chambers, further called for more partnership with Imo State and the Nigerian Airforce.
He said ” As to establish the Airforce Secondary School for Indigenous children to pass through such high-tech quality education and training usually gotten from the Nigerian Airforce.
The Governor also charged him to see to it that the Airforce Medical Centre in Owerri is fully equiped while access to the facility should be extended to the neighbouring civilian host communities.
Speaking earlier, Okpara stated that the purpose of the visit was to appraise the Governor with what he is doing which he highlighted to include the training of Nigerian troops for special warfare.
