UACC Celebrates 60 Years, Highlights Five Years Of Growth , Renewed Global Mission

The United Apostolic Church of Christ (UACC) has marked significant achievements over the past five years while reaffirming its unwavering commitment to global evangelism and community development.

During the church’s 60th Anniversary celebration held in Lagos on Saturday, the General Overseer and President, Reverend Dr. James Bayo Owoyemi, gave thanks to God for the remarkable progress recorded. He emphasized the church’s ongoing mission to spread the gospel of Christ, extend support to the needy, and expand the Kingdom of God.

Dr. Owoyemi highlighted key milestones, including the opening of new branches both within Nigeria and internationally, with a growing presence in several Nigerian tertiary institutions.

He said plans are underway to establish a university named after the church’s pioneer president, as well as the development of “United City” , which according to him, is a large-scale project aimed at providing housing solutions alongside hospitals and other social amenities to support the church community and promote christian values.

Since its inception in 1965 with just sixteen members, UACC has grown to over 5,000, expanding well beyond its original South West Nigeria base to other parts of the country, the United Kingdom, and the Benin Republic.

To further extend its reach in Europe, the church recently launched the Directorate of International Affairs.

He said, in its commitment to youth development, the church has begun compiling a database to assist financially challenged students and has established campus fellowships to nurture spiritual growth and academic excellence through targeted Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

The President also explained that the initiative was aimed to bring the youths close to God and groom them spirituall

The creation of a media unit was also announced to enhance communication efforts. Furthermore, the church has transformed its Women’s Week into an Annual Women’s Conference, fostering female empowerment and positively impacting numerous families.

Reverend Dr. Owoyemi, who serves as the fourth General Overseer, reaffirmed that these strides exemplify UACC’s dedication to widening its impact spiritually and socially both locally and internationally.
