TRIBUTE : Save Nigeria Group Commiserates With Family Of Late Barr. Orakwusi 

Port activist group, Save Nigerian Freight Forwarders Importers Exporters Coalition (SNFFIEC) has joined other stakeholders in the maritime sector to mourn the demise of late Barrister (Mrs) Margaret Onyema – Orakwusi.

The port activist group expressed sadness over the Amazon’s  death, saying her footprints will not be forgotten in a hurry.

National Coordinator, SNFFIEC Chief Osita Chukwu Patrick in a “Condolence Message”, over the weekend lamented that  Onyema – Orakwusi played a critical role in the maritime space, mostly as it concerns trawler and fishing  operations in the sub sector.

While praying for the family for God’s divine ercy and protection, Osita noted that the maritime Industry will miss her role in advocacy.

Osita said her demise has left a huge vacuum for the industry irrespective of gender bias.

He noted that women in maritime will never be complete without mentioning the name of Margaret Onyema – Orakwusi .

Osita said ” We at SNFFIEC received the news  of the demise of Barrister Margaret Onyema – Orakwusi of the Maritime Industry in shock and pain.

“Mrs Orakwusi, was a very strong advocate of the feminine gender who believed in the ideology of women inclusiveness in all facets of human endeavour, most especially in the Maritime Sector, following her instrumental role  fishing trawlers sub sector.

“As an advocate of women inclusiveness in the maritime sector, Mrs Orakwusi encouraged women tutored and mentored them into the fishing industry; a feat she achieved during her life time.

“Barrister Orakwusi, indeed was an Amazon of the female gender initiative, a rare gem, who  touched the heart of the industry by infusing in women alongside the men folks. She was an epitome of motherhood who believed in equity, fairness and justice; little wonder, she is being missed by all and sundry for the unique legacies she has left behind worth of emulation.

“She will remain indelible in the sands of time and her loving memory will linger  in the hearts of many, particularly in the sector where she transformed many lives for the betterment of the society.”
