The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ondo/Ekiti Area Command, has announced with deep sorrow the passing of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASCII) Bolaji Rasaq.
In an official statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC) Herbert Dzungwenen, on behalf of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Morenikeji Bewaji, it was disclosed that ASCII Bolaji Rasaq passed away on Tuesday, 7 January 2025, at a specialist hospital in Lagos.
The statement described ASCII Bolaji Rasaq as a diligent and devoted officer who served as the secretary to the Customs Area Controller of the Ondo/Ekiti Area Command. She highlighted her significant contributions to the Nigeria Customs Service, noting that her exemplary commitment and dedication were highly esteemed.
Comptroller Bewaji noted that the demise has left the Command and her loved ones in profound grief.
She extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, and colleagues, offering prayers for divine comfort. “May Almighty Allah grant her Aljanat Firdaus and give her family the strength to bear this immeasurable loss. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” she stated.
Comptroller Bewaji further remarked that the passing of ASCII Bolaji Rasaq represents a significant loss to the Ondo/Ekiti Area Command and the Nigeria Customs Service at large, as they remember a valued colleague and a dedicated officer.
The statement also noted that ASCII Bolaji Rasaq had already been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
