Tragedy As Gunmen Kill Retired Police Officer In Delta Community

Gunmen have reportedly killed a retired  Police Officer ,a simply identified as Paul Edike.

 

The remains of the deceased was found along Warri/Benin road in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

It gathered that Edike was abducted on his way back home from a function.

 

A family relative of the deceased, Joseph Edike in a chat with Our Correspondent said Edike’s who witnessed the incident reported to the family shortly after the kidnap.

 

That hours later the lifeless body of their father was found along Warri/Benin road.

“Our Dad was kidnapped on his way home on Friday evening, the driver came to tell us, later in the night, his lifeless body was found along Warri/Benin road.

“We suspect it is assassination in relation with the case our brother is having with some persons abroad.

 

“Since the case starred threat messages and calls have been made to us but we never knew it will get to the level.”

 

The remains of the deceased has been deposited for further action and report to police.

The family member stressed that they were careful of involving Police because of the issues their brother has abroad.

 

When contacted for comments, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Adeyinka Adeleke in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent on Sunday afternoon said,”I am not aware since of the matter since they didn’t report to the Police. How do I know that their brother was kidnapped and killed?”
