Tin Can 2 Surpasses Monthly Target, Nets N1,534,898,047 In February

Tin Can 2 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service said on Friday that it collected N1,534,898,047 as revenue for the month February 2019.

 Even though the revenue collected in the second month of the year dropped as against what was generated in January, the command stated that it surpassed the monthly target of 1.4billion.

 Speaking with Dailyfocus News Online ,Public Relations Officer of the Lilypond Command ,Farouk Abubakar said management set aside N1,432,773,836.56,monthly revenue target for the year adding that the command has surpassed the last two months collection.

 According to him, the command collected N3,038,555,348.00 ,with a surplus of about 1,605,781,511.44.

 Despite  the drop in revenue collection for February, the spokesman noted that it recorded a surplus of N102,124,210.44 ,against the monthly target for the command.

 Asked about the progress recorded in its revenue drive for the command, Abubakar maintained 90% of revenue collected in the  month last two months was generated from the Lekki and Lagos Free Trade Zone.

 He also lamented that the Ijora based command recorded less than 10 percent revenue collection.

 He attributed the slight drop of revenue collection in February to the nationwide presidential and National Assembly elections saying, business activities was slow.
