Tambuwal Signs N189bn Appropriation Law, Swears-in 5 Commissioners, Director General 

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state  has signed into law the 2023 appropriation bill of N189 billion.

Muhammad Bello,Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Governor of Sokoto state disclosed on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in a statement.

Speaking after the signing ceremony held at the council chamber of Government House, Sokoto today, Governor Tambuwal appreciated the cordial working relationship with the Sokoto state House of Assembly (SOHA) since inception of his administration.

He said the members have demonstrated commitment and patriotism for the development of the state.

He particularly commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the assembly for working together with their Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart in the interest of the state.

The Governor appealed to all the stakeholders and government functionaries who are going to work on the implementation of the budget to work harder in order to ensure  effective implementation for the good of the state.

Tambuwal also thanked the judiciary for the good working relationship with the executive in the discharge of their duties effectively.

He also commended the civil society organizations and development partners who always participate in the budget process throughout his tenure and urged them to continue to give their best.

He also thanked the Sultanate Council, traditional and religious leaders for the support and cooperations to his administration.

The governor also also appreciated the dedication of the state civil servants and citizens of the state for their unflinching support towards the success of his administration.

Earlier in his address, the Speaker of SOHA, Rt. Hon. Aminu Manya Achida said he was impressed with the achievements of the 2022 budget despite all the financial problem faced by the country and the state.

He said the Governor recorded various achievements in the area of education, health, agriculture, infrastructure among others.

The speaker added that the 2023 budget is a balanced one that takes into cognizance some needs of the people, this its flexibility.

Meawhile, Tambuwal has also sworn-in five newly appointed commissioners and one Director General.

Those sworn in as commissioners are: Aminu Ibrahim Sokoto, Muhammad Isah Tsabre, Muhammad Lema Abubakar, Alhassan Ibrahim Rara and Abdullahi Mu’azu Hassan.

The appointee for Director General is Hajiya Hussaina AbdulRazak.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the council chamber of Government House, Sokoto,

Governor Tambuwal said their appointment is based in merit, competence and commitment to the service of the people.

He enjoined them to give their maximum best within short period of the present administration for the development of the state.

The Governor congratulated the appointees and assured his total support to them.
