STS OPERATION: Seafarers Raise Alarm,  As Colleague’s Leg Cut Off Aboard MT Matrix Pride

Seafarers aboard MT Matrix Pride on Wednesday, raised the alarm over injuries sustained by one of their colleague at Escravos Anchorage in Delta State.

The incident occurred during Ship To Ship transfer operation in the Niger Delta region.

Gory pictures displayed on social media revealed that one of the victim’s leg was cut off while at work with blood spilling onboard.

Video footage it was learnt that Wednesday’s heavy downpour might have been responsible for the incident , even as the sailor was seen transported from the vessel to a smaller craft for proper onward treatment.

Hamza Lawan who posted on his official Facebook page ,says: “This thing happen to our seafarer’s brother yesterday onboard the ship matrix pride during STS operation @ escravos anchorage Delta state.

” May Almighty Allah protect all our seafarers all over the world am felling the pain in my heart”;he added.
