Stakeholders Express Mixed Feelings Over ACG Nnadi’s Exit From Tin Can Island Command

Mixed reactions have continued to trail the newly promoted Assistant Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Dera Nnadi who on Friday bowed out of Tin Can Island Port Command as Area Controller.
ACG Nnadi handed over the leadership mantle to Deputy Controller Frank Onyeka.
The Command has welcomed the new Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Onyeka even as this came in line with the recent promotion of Comptroller DA Nnadi to the management rank of Assistant Comptroller General.
A cross section of maritime stakeholders expressed satisfaction over the Area Controller performance while at Tin Can Island Port Command, even as they described the new controller as a performer who has a performing track record on revenue drive.
According to them, the outgoing Area Controller was a team player who believes in collaboration with stakeholders, while the new helmsman would sustain the tempo or surpass what his predecessor had done
Speaking on the sidelines of the hand over ceremony held in Lagos on Friday, National Publicity Secretary of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents ANLCA, Emmanuel Onyeme stated that Nnadi would be missed by public and private sector players.
Onyeme maintained that the outgoing Area Controller has written his name in gold by prioritizing trade facilitation and revenue collection.
The National Publicity Secretary reiterated that Nnadi was able to promote trade whilst at the helms of affairs at the command,adding that the results are there to show for his performance.
He said ANLCA has a robust relationship under the Comptroller General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi administration
Nnadi, he said is a blessing to the command and freight forwarders will continue to appreciate him , for his sterling performance..

On the newly appointed Controller for Tin Can Command , the NPS reaffirmed that the more shippers would patronize the command adding that he is a trade personified officer of customs.
“He (Onyeka)is somebody that has the antecedent and I know he will succeed .”
A stakeholder who identified himself as Chika Sunday described the handing over ceremony as a day of joy adding that Nnadi contributed his quota to national development.
He described Nnadi ‘s fifteen months stay at Tin Can Island Port Command as a testimony with evidence of performance.
Chika also urged the new Area Controller to attract shippers to patronize Tin Can Island Port Command adding that the new Chief will get maximum support from shippers and freight forwarders.
