SSASCFA TUC Women Commission Canvasses Collective Action To End Digital Violence Against Females
The Senior Staff Association of Shipping, Clearing and Forwarding Agencies (SSASCFA) TUC Women Commission has issued a strong call to action against gender-based digital violence.
The SSASCFA TUC Women Commission’s appeal shines a spotlight on digital violence as a critical gender issue, urging immediate steps toward protection and empowerment of women and girls in the online world.
Comrade (Mrs) Rita Ononiwu, the Women Commission Leader, spoke recently in Lagos, highlighting the urgent need to address the growing threat of online harassment, cyberbullying, and digital abuse targeting women and girls.
Describing digital violence as an alarming and harmful trend both in Nigeria and globally, Ononiwu emphasized the devastating impact such abuse has on women’s ability to freely express themselves, work, and learn online.
She urged collective action to create safer digital environments free from fear and intimidation
She pointed out that.“Our digital spaces must be safe, inclusive, and respectful,” Ononiwu insisted, calling on everyone to unite in standing against all forms of digital violence.
