Significant Advancement For FRSC, As SGF Approves Promotions Of 100 Senior Officers

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has marked a major milestone in strengthening its leadership and capacity development with the approval by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, of promotions for 51 Corps Commanders and 49 Deputy Corps Commanders.

According to a statement signed by
Olusegun Ogungbemide, Assistant Corps Marshal, Corps Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Headquarters, on Thursday Abuja, 31 July 2025, the key promotion exercise underscores the Corps’ ongoing dedication to excellence, professionalism, and strategic leadership.

Authorized on behalf of President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu,, the exercise elevated 51 Deputy Corps Commanders to Corps Commander rank, and 49 Assistant Corps Commanders to Deputy Corps Commander.

The SGF applauded the Corps for conducting a transparent, merit-based process and encouraged the newly promoted officers to renew their commitment to the Corps’ mission of reducing road traffic accidents and fostering safer driving nationwide. He highlighted that the promotions mirror the current administration’s determination to recognize hard work, dedication, and excellence.

In response, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed congratulated the promoted officers for their outstanding service and reminded them that greater responsibility accompanies their new ranks. He urged them to maintain discipline, integrity, and service excellence.

He also encouraged those not promoted this cycle to stay committed and assured them that their efforts will be recognized in future promotions.

Reaffirming his focus on staff welfare, the Corps Marshal called on all personnel to stay dedicated to achieving the Corps’ strategic objectives and national road safety goals.
