Siasia’s Mother Still Not Released

Up until date, the 80-year old abducted mother of the former Super Eagle’s coach, Samson Siasia has not been released.

Two days after she was kidnapped alongside two others, the kidnappers contacted the Siasia’s family, demanding for a N70 million ransoms.

However, the former coach pleaded with the kidnappers to set his mother free unconditionally as he was out of job and cannot afford such amount.

However, a relative disclosed that the kidnappers reduced the ransom to N50 million without considering the woman’s health.

According to him, the family offered to pay N500,000 but the kidnappers rejected the offer, saying it was too small.

Concerned over the elderly woman’s health, he lamented that the police and other security agencies had done nothing about the abduction as nothing tangible came out of a recent security meeting held on the matter.

“We are begging the abductors to set our mother free. We don’t have the kind of money they are asking for. They should please respect the age of the woman and release her,” he said.

Police spokesman Butswat Asinim said the police were working on the matter.
