Shippers’ Council, NCDC To Sensitise Maritime Operators In Curbing COVID-19 Spread

The Nigeria Shippers’ Council has entered into strategic partnership with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to contain the spread of COVID-19, particularly in the nation’s maritime community .

The council in a statement by Rekiya Zubairu, Head, Public Relations Unit on Wednesday, said the gesture was necessary because truckers, being essential workers, are some of the few people who are allowed to move across state lines as they deliver essential cargoes all around the country.

The Council added that the sensitization which begins today, 13th May, 2020, will see the Council hand over hundreds of face masks and hand sanitizers to the leaders of seven trucking associations.
