Shippers Council Expresses Commitment For ICTN Implementation By 3rd Quarter 2024,

The Nigerian Shippers’ Council NSC has expressed commitment for the  International Cargo Tracking Note (ICTN) implementation come 3rd quarter of 2024.

Executive Secretary, NSC, Barr. Pius Akutah, made this know during a working  visit to the  former Managing Director, NSC, Dr. Kingsley Usoh recently .
Highpoints of their discussions focused  on trade facilitation, port efficiency, and ICTN implementation.
Barr. Akutah reiterated commitment to ICTN implementation for improved revenue, cargo monitoring, and enhanced port security by Q3 of 2024.
The visit which took place on Friday, 26th Jan, 2024.

Dr. Usoh praised NSC’s role, emphasizing collaboration for progress.
Similarly, ES/CEO, NSC continued  to seek valuable insights, leading the Council’s management on a courtesy visit to another former MD, NSC, Chief Adebayo Sarumi.
 Chief Sarumi commended Akutah, emphasizing fair play in engaging with maritime stakeholders.

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, had assured that his administration will pursue the implementation of the Cargo Tracking Note (CTN) and the Port Community System, a Single Window Project being pursued by the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), which is targeted at ensuring Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) at the seaports.
