Shippers Council Cooperative Immortalizes Outgoing Executive Secretary Hassan Bello

As part of efforts to immortalise an icon in the maritime industry, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society has named the outgoing  Executive Secretary of the council, Mr Hassan Bello after its Jikoyi Estate.

 

Speaking during the Serving Awards / Long Service Award organized by the Council held at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, the President of the Cooperative Mr Bashir Ambi Mohammed said it has become necessary to immortalized Mr. Bello, whom can be best described as an Iconic , game changer when it comes to cooperative reforms in the Nigeria Shippers’ Council.

 

Ambi said “To us in the cooperative, Cooperator Hassan Bello has been a law abiding, dedicated, committed cooperative member whose guidance has brought positive changes to what we are witnessing in the present day cooperative society.

“In line with his enormous contributions, we have immortalized our Jikoyi Landed Property after Cooperator Hassan Bello. From today, the property should be named and addressed as HASSAN BELLO ESTATE.

 

Ambi however stated that Mr Bello is not a burden but a required assets to the Cooperative.

 

 

He said the Outgoing Chief Executive Officers of the council leaving the system will definitely shrink the pulse of the Cooperative but added that “We have no option than to pay him his legitimate hard earned savings.”

 

The President also pointed out that Mr Hassan Bello had previously allocated an office space for the Cooperative in order to enhance transparency and safety of members hard earned savings.

“Mr Bello revolutionized the cooperative when the Cooperative Society.was at the verge of collapse. Indeed we are grateful to him, a man of honour, a man of financial prudency.

 

“It is not hear say to always remember what Mr Hassan Bello said: ”if i have my way i will make it compulsory for staff to join the Cooperative because of the future benefits involved. I enjoy the staff to join the Cooperative”

 

“No amount of money of money can be given to compensate Mr Hassan Bello than immortalizing an icon. The housing estate will remain as HASSAN BELLO ESTATE.

The council’s sevicom award was  done to honour outstanding staff in the maritime parastatals Long Service Award: 15.20, 25 and 30 years.

 

Outstanding Zonal Coordinating office, outstanding department, outstanding driver and outstanding Independent  Unit of the   Council.

 

Also, Mr  Ambi wished the Executive Secretary/CEO Mr Hassan Bello the best of luck in his future endeavours.

 

The function was graced by the Honourable Minister of Transportation RT Hon Rotimi Ameachi, The Permanent Secretary,  nobel laurel Prof Wole Soyinka, the Chairman Governing Board and members.of the NSC Board, Chairman Board of FRSC Mr Buhari Bello, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, former  MD NPA Chief Adebayo Sarumi amongst others.
