Senator Eshilokun Embarks On Entrepreneurship Training For Barbers, Photographers, Confectionery, Others

The Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly, has embarked on a 3 – Day entrepreneurship training programme for youths from across the 13 LGAs and LCDAs.
The senator in collaboration with with the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) trained beneficiaries in Barbing, Photography and Confectionery.
A total of 250 persons benefitted from the training even as clippers, digital cameras, and other catering equipments were distributed to participants.
Speaking at the end of the three day training programme held at the Surulere Local Government Area Complex on Wednesday, Senator Eshilokun reiterated that the event underscored by the presence of leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos Central urging all the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme to make good use of the tools and money in furtherance to improve their standard of living despite the current hardship.
The senator noted that , “It is pertinent to let our beneficiaries know that we have fulfilled our own promise by providing you with this support, the ball is now in your court to make the best out of what we have provided for you to be self-sufficient.
“I therefore enjoin all our leaders to also lend your voices in charging the beneficiaries to remain focused on ways to expand their businesses, so as to become employers of labour in the nearest future. I pray that God will guide them aright.” he appealed.
According to him, beneficiaries while in training, were taken through the rudiments of their different vocations, and were served free lunch and given N5,000 daily, as transport support.
He also disclosed that each of them will go home with the sum of fifty thousand naira (N50,000.00) as start-up capital and requisite tools for their different vocations.
Eshilokun stressed that aside the entrepreneurship training, sewing machines, grinding machines, welding machines, and tricycles were distributed to some beneficiaries who are artisans, market women, and some constituents to start their own business life.
The lawmaker promised to attract impactful projects and programmes to the senatorial district, even as he highlighted number of projects and programmes that have been completed.
While giving a detailed background of activities from inception as a senator, the lawmaker revealed that the “Facilitation of a digital training program tagged: Let’s Go Digital, during which over 1500 youths and Senior Secondary Students, were trained simultaneously, in all the 13 LGAs and LCDAs that make up the district.
“Organization of the 2023 Elderly Citizens Assistance Scheme (ECAS) with the theme: Our Elder: Our Fountain of Wisdom, to celebrate our elderly citizens in the district. The programme involved giving out N10,000 cash and fabrics to over 2000 elderly ones selected from the 13 LGAs/LCDAs within the district. The 2024 edition of the program is loading, as it will come up in December, 2024.
“Distribution of three sets of food palliatives to my Constituents, cutting across all spectra of the society. In the process, 25,000 packs of food packs containing rice, beans, gari and semolina were distributed to my constituents and stakeholders in the district.
“Distribution of over two thousand (2,000) JAMB (UTME) forms to the 75 public Senior Secondary schools, 3 Federal Government (Unity) colleges and several private students in the 93 wards within the district.
“Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun Scholarship and Education Support Program Over 120 students selected across the Senatorial District by a screening committee benefited from this scholarship program held in April 2024 with a total value of over Fifteen Million Naira (N15,000,000).
Items like rams, bags of rice, and cash gift as 2024 Ileya support programme was given to leaders of the across the district .
“Others are solar powered streetlights have been installed and functional at the following roads, Elegbata Street – Lagos Island, lga-ldunganran Street – Lagos Island , Glover St – Lagos Island, Simpson Street by Glover down to Olonade, Ebute-Metta, Lagos Mainland, Adebowale Street – Surulere, Baale St, lgbo-Efon, Eti-Osa,Odudu Aleyiwo – Oniru, Eti-Osa , Ahaji Akanni Azeez, Ikate-Elegushi , Lekki-Phase I Estate – Eti-Osa LGA , Karimu Opeloyeru Street, Apapa, Enu-owa Street, Lagos Island (On-going) and Esilokun Street in Eti-Osa (On-Going).
Similarly, the Sanusi Street in Surulere LGA; Ayigoro Street in Eti-Osa LGA, Bola Street in Ebute-Metta (under re construction). Ladejobi Street in Apapa-Iganmu are under re-construction) with additional provision of transformers provided for Oju-Olokun community in Lagos Island and, at Okun-Ajah in Eti-Osa.
Recall that the senator during a empowerment project at Lekki distributed 100 grinding machines, 100 sewing machines 70 Generators (3.5KVA), 50 Deep freezers 5 Tricycles , and 4000 School Bags to beneficiaries under his constituency. –
