Seafarers Union Felicitates Newly Appointed NIMASA’s Executive Directors

The Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNOWTSSA) has congratulated the recent appointment of the new executive directors of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) by President Bola Tinubu .

They are Abba Jubril, Executive Director, Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services (ML&CS), Chudi Offodile — Executive Director, Finance & Administration  and
Engr. Fatai Taye Adeyemi — Executive Director, Operations

A statement signed on Wednesday by the Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress TUC affiliate group, Comrade John Okpono Aleakhue quoted its National President, Engr. Bob Joseph Yousuo expressing satisfaction of the appointments noting that the NMNOWTSSA will give maximum cooperation in furtherance to create a robust working relationship with the apex maritime regulatory agency.

Yousuo described the appointment of the executive directors at NIMASA as transparent and fair in line with maritime development.

The President reiterated that prudence and transparency has earned them the prestigious positions stressing that the appointment will bring good tidings to NIMASA and the maritime industry as well.

The National President also urged the new Executive Directors to work with the seafarers representatives and other Maritime stakeholders for the growth of the Maritime industry as well as to better the life of Nigerian seafarers.

Recall that President Tinubu approved the appointment of new Executive Directors in two (2) agencies under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy:

Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA): (A) Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet — Executive Director, Finance & Administration (NPA)

(B) Engr. Olalekan Badmus — Executive Director, Marine & Operations (NPA)

(C) Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar — Executive Director, Engineering & Technical Services (NPA)

Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)
