SCAM ALERT: NPA Raises Alarm Over Fake Online Recruitment Invitation

Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has distanced itself from a purported online job recruitment invitation, saying the exercise is fake.

The Port Authority  affirmed that invitation did not emanate from the maritime agency under the Federal Ministry of Transportation (FMOT).

According to a statement sighted by DAILYFOCUS NIGERIA, over the weekend, the electronic mail with the title “Recruitment Invitation” being circulated purportedly inviting candidates for a recruitment exercise is fake.

NPA also said invitations bothering on recruitment are signed by the General Manager , Human Resources and not the Managing Director as cited in the blatantly mischievous email.

The Port Authority stated  that recruitment process of the Nigerian Ports Authority is governed by the public service employment guidelines and does not involve any form of payments.

The maritime  agency reiterated that all correspondence of the Authority shall be through authorized channels and can be verified on the real time interactive website .

The statement reads  in bits, “The attention of the Nigerian Ports Authority has been drawn to the activities of criminal elements misleading and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public in connection with a purported recruitment exercise, and wishes to state as follows:

1. The electronic mail with the title “Recruitment Invitation” being

circulated purportedly inviting candidates for a recruitment exercise is fake and did not emanate from the Authority.

2. Invitations bordering on recruitment are signed by the General Manager Human Resources, Managing Director as cited in the blatantly mischievoUs mail.

3. The recruitment process of the Nigerian Ports Authority is

governed by the public service employment guidelines and

does NOT involve any form of payments.

“This is to reiterate that ALL correspondence of the Authority shall be through duly authorized channels and can be verified on our realtime interactive website (www.nigerianports.gov.ng) accordingly.”
