SCAM ALERT: ITF Raises Alarm Over Internet Fraud On Seafarers’ Job Placement
The International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) has raised the alarm over internet fraud on seafarers’ seeking for job placement, saying on no account anyone should pay monies for UK National Insurance number .
ITF disclosed that the scammers are demanding £630 for a UK National Insurance number and other costs for a visa as part of a non-existent job offer.
The federation maintained that it has been alerted that scammers are operating on how to defraud innocent jobless seafarers’
ITF called on seafarers’ with any concerns about job placement to contact its unit on jobscam@itf.org.uk, urging sailors not to fall for the new tricks by the cyber criminals.

According to the federation via its official facebook page, the scammers have two fraudulent email addresses ; namely: visa-department@immigrationbureau.uk.com and info@immigrationbureau.uk.net
“SCAM ALERT: – This scam asks seafarers to pay £630 for a UK National Insurance number and other costs for a visa as part of a non-existent job offer.
“If you have received any emails with immigrationbureau as part of the address, please contact us before proceeding any further.
“DON’T LET THE SCAMMERS WIN! Share this with your friends and colleagues”, It warned seafarers ‘ worldwide.
