REVENUE : Apapa Customs Generates Highest Daily Revenue Of N264,455,587,792.56 kobo

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) ,Apapa Area Command on Monday said it has recorded a daily whooping N264,455,587,792.56 kobo collection in the month of October 2024.

The flagship command of the NCS, also stated that it has recorded the highest revenue collection in the history of the command with a total of N1,875,369,214.04k between January and October 2024..

Speaking at a press briefing held on Monday in Lagos, Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu noted that despite remarkable decline in the volume of trade thee command has been able to block leakages and achieved maximum collection of revenue as evidence in the monthly activities.

According to him, the command is hopeful of meeting and even surpassed the target of N2.2trillion as the year winds down.

Comptroller Olomu reiterated that management of the service is driven with modern and paperless system saying that the Apapa command is gearing up to migrate from old system to a new method while maximizing the benefit.

He reiterated that the command has keyed into trade facilitation tools like AEO and Advanced ruling to ensure seamless movement of both import and export cargoes.

The controller noted that in line with the federal government agenda to ease of doing business,the command operates on Saturday and Sunday to ensure that importers take delivery of their consignment devoid of any delay.

On anti smuggling, Olomu stated that “the Comptroller General of Customs,Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR ,we shall hand over six containers carrying falsely declared and unwholesome pharmaceutical and controller led products to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
