RE-ELECTION: Engr. Bob Yousuo Emerges National President Of NMNOWTSSA

Engr Bob Yousuo has been re-elected as the National President,Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNOWTSSA) for another four years.

Yousuo and others were elected unopposed during the 2nd Quadrennial Delegates Conference held in Lagos by the Trade Union Congress (TUC) affiliate.

The executives and members of the NMNOWTSSA on Thursday, voted the incumbent national president, Comrade Bob Joseph Yousuo for second term in office.

DAILY FOCUS NIGERIA reports that Chief Engineer Yousuo emerged president at the delegate conference that held in Asaba in 2020 taking over from Comrade Matthew Alalade who had completed his two terms in office

In his acceptance speech, Chief Yousuo who spoke on behalf of the newly elected national officers, pledged to that the union secretariat to its permanent site, saying “that is my number priority for now.

He reiterated that”It is my wish that we have our own personal site. That is my prayer and i know that God says we should ask and it shall be given until us and I believe that God will definitely answer us.

“Before I leave, let it be that Merchant Navy a place that can be called their own. If I can get that alone, I think I am done well.

“Secondly, I pray that we ynionise.more companies because the NJIC we just signed will not be meaningful if ot doesn’t go down to the seafarers and the only way the seafarers will benefit is for them to belong to the union.

“I urge my fellow seafarers to make a little sacrifice, pull out of your comfort zone sometimes to do something that will yield better result for yourself and the younger generation

“Then to ensure that out members have good welfare package because as you can see, the labour movement is emphatic that workers should have good working condition and environment.

Other officers who were unopposed except the new Deputy National President, Comrade Yakubu Tenimu Zurkarneni include:

Captain Prince Dagogo, as Vice National President (offshore), Engr. Wale George Ogunsola, Vice National President , Captain Isaac Esiekpe,Vice National President (Fishing) and Comrade Victoria Wakili, Vice National President (NIWA Zone).

Others are: Engr. Reginald Onyenobi,as National Treasurer, Engr. Bernard Edewor, National Auditor 1, Comrade Jekiri Festus National Auditor 2, Comrade Mary Mercy Ayorinde Trustee 1, Engr. Lawrence Olopade, National Trustee 2, Captain Benjamin Bekes, National Trustee 3 and Engr. Matthew Alalade as Ex Officio.
