RCCG: Comforters Assembly Choir Launches Debut Album

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Comforters Assembly Lagos Province LP 38 Choir has unveiled the much talked about debut album titled “Flourish” .

The much anticipated album which contained four tracks which include: Flourishing, Ope loye o, Ide mi ja and Divine Connection  was  launched on the 31st of October 2021 as part of the  grand finale celebration of the 5th Year Anniversary of the church in Ikotun, Lagos.

The album, produced by Finger Touch and mixed by T- String, has Pastor Muyiwa Matilukuro as executive producer.

Speaking at the 5th Year Anniversary held in Lagos , Assistant Provincial Pastor In charge of Lagos Province LP 38, Pastor Dele Jayeoba expressed satisfaction of the church choirs,’ debut album, even as he urged the choristers to explore all avenues in ensuring that the songs obtain global recognition.

Jayeola who was represented by Pastor  Amos Adebayo, Zonal Pastor under LP 38 ,stressed that the genre of music as compiled ,composed and performed by the choir has what it takes to generate cash for the church through YouTube and other online music platforms; with followers and downloads inclusive.

He also urged that the audio Compact Disc   should also go side by side with video contents in order not for pirates and music copycats to duplicate their intellectual property.

He further recalled that one of the parishes of the RCCG , similarly, launched a gospel album 25years ago within Ikotun community, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State which according to him, went viral pointing out that the new album launched by the Church choir has what it takes to go viral as well.

“I want you all to make that the album goes viral. I want all of you to start sharing the music online because the songs in this album has what it takes to get International recognition.

“But let me also advised that the songs  should get video contents.”

Also speaking to our correspondent, Head Choir , RCCG Comforters Assembly, Sis Bola Babatunde explained that members of the band have reiterated their commitment to ensuring a successful album launch.

Babatunde described the five tracker  album as a blend of praise and worship onto the name of the Lord.

According to her, the purpose of the album launch is centred on promoting the gospel through music adding that spreading of the gospel as christians is paramount to glorify the name of God.

Babatunde said” The inspiration behind the songs is to spread the gospel ,to win soul to God’s  kingdom and to give him praise.”

The sixteen members band consists:  Sis Bola Babatunde  as lead vocalist, Bola Afolayan, Unuchi Vivian, Teju Fatoye, Anu Idowu (Talking Drum), Samson Egbekunle ( Drummer) and  Kafogofoluwa Olawole.

Others are : Ms. Ayotunde Matilukuro, Ms. Bolaji Matilukuro, Pastor Mrs. Omobolawa Matilukuro, Mrs. Rose Amatotitsero, Ms. Abisola Adeniyi, Mrs. Faremi Ajoke, Mrs. Victoria Samson,Mr. Temitope Okunola,  and Ms. Iyabo Ojo.
