Prostitute Bags 12months Imprisonment Over N57.8m Fraud , As Ex- Rector’s Son Jailed In Kwara

Justice Mahmud Abdulgafar of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday, February 4, 2022  sentenced 20-year-old Oyelowo Mayowa Fawas from Atiba Local Government Area of Oyo State to 12months imprisonment for offences bordering on cybercrime and possession of fraudulent funds.

 

The defendant was prosecuted on two counts by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC.

 

 

Oyelowo, among other things, disguised as ‘a white female professional prostitute’, practicing in the United States of America, to swindle his unsuspecting victims of various sums before the long arm of the law caught up with him.

Also in the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC, on Thursday, February 3, 2022 secured the conviction of a certain Olaoye Jamiu Olarewaju, son of a former Deputy Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, over offences bordering on cybercrime.

 

 

Olaoye was convicted alongside one Badmus Ridwan Moyosore, a native of Ibadan, Oyo State and one Abdulsalam Ibrahim from Malete in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State, over similar offence by Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin.

According to the statement, the trio of Olaoye, Badmus and Abdulsalam, who were prosecuted on separately by the anti-graft agency pleaded guilty to their respective charges.
