Profile Of Comptroller Olugboyega Peters , Controller Western Marine Command, NCS

Comptroller Olugboyega Peters is an Agrcultural Engineer by training and was born on the 5 Feb, in the 60s in Akure the present day Ondo State Capital. He hail from Ekiti State the “Fountain of Knowledge”.

He attended L.A Primary School , Akure where he obtained (FSLC). Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure where he obtained West Africa School Certificate (WASC). He proceeded to University of Ife.

Also,College of Agriculture, Akure where he had Distinctions. Later to the Polytechnic Ibadan where he obtained (HND) in Agric Engineening and won departmental laurels .

He attended two famous universities in Nigerian,which include University of Calabar and the Lagos State University where he bagged MBA(Management Option) and MSc Finance. The passion for academics saw him secure admission into the National Open University of Nigeria and obtained LLB Law. He is happily married with kids.

The current Western Marine Command boss , started his career as an Agricultural Engineer with the famous Leventis Group of Companies Ltd. He joined the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on the 13 Aprl, 1989. He has served in various Commands and Units at the Customs Headquarters thus making him a seasoned officer full of experience in customology.

To mention but a few, he served at the Human Resource Development (HRD) department at the Customs HQ Abuja, one of the pioneer officers at PAAR Ruling Centre as O.C Revenue at the Abuja Headquarters.

Comptroller Peters also served as OC Teminal at Port and Cargo Handling Services at Tin can Port. He has been an Area Project Manager (APM) at Ports and Terminal Multipurpose Ltd (PTML) Command in Lagos.
He served as valuaton Officer at Onne Port, and also served as Customs lntelligence Unt Offcer (CiU)at Kirikiri LIghter Terminal (KLT), posiions fheld oniy Dy diigent and inteligent Officers of the Service.

Comptroller Olugboyega Peters has been one of the PIoneering Staff at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College Gwagwalada Abuja.

His antecedents in the Nigeria Customs Service made the Management of the Service to appoint him the Comptroller of the Powerful Federal Operations Unit, Zone D with its headquarters in Bauchi state. The FOU zone D covers the entire NorthEastem region of the country where insecurity/ insurgency, banditry and dissidence are the order of the day but he recorded unprecedented seizures of contrabands to his credit.

The customs chief is today the Customs Area Controller of Westem Marine Command Ibafon Apapa Lagos.

The command is an amphibious arm of the NCS in charge of anti-smuggling activities on the Western Waterways,Creeks and Beaches of the country.

Comptroller Peters hobbies include Swimming, Making friends, Reading and Tutoring.
