PMS SPILLAGE:  Fire Service Cautions Commuters Over 45,000 Litres Tanker  In Lekki

There has been an accident involving a Mack Tanker fully laden with 45,000 litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit and a Tipper Truck at Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, on Sunday, 12th September, 2021, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has disclosed.

 

According to a statement signed by Mrs. Adeseye Margaret, Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service,the tanker, which was reportedly hit by a run-away tipper truck, spilt its content while trying to enter an NNPC Filling Station along the axis.

She said the incident, which occurred at Majek Bus Stop, inward Sangotedo, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, has been cordoned off to prevent danger.

The Director said, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is mitigating the situation with the deployment of Chemical Foam Compound to neutralise petrol from causing a secondary incident.

 

She urged motorists and passers-by  to tread with utmost caution around the corridor until the evacuation is completed.
