Abia State former Governor, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu shades tears following an order by the Federal High Court in Lagos which sentenced him to 12 years imprisonment.
Kula who looks very terrified, begged the prison warders not to handcuff him in the public as the shame will be much for him to bear.
According him, “Where are you taking us to now? Please don’t handcuff me, I will follow you” he said.
Mr Kalu, who is now a Senator, has been in a legal battle with Economic And Financial Crime Commissione(EFCC) for well over 12 years over a case of ₦7.65bn fraud.
His fraud case started since 2007, soon after his governorship position in Abia state.
His company, Slok Nig Ltd, was also ordered to be forfeited to the Federal government in 228 page judgment delivered by Justice Idris Mohammed on Thursday.
His colleague, Mr Udeogu was also sentenced to 10 years in prison following his roles in the diversion of the said amount from Abia State Purse.
