The Inspector-General of Police Special Task Force on Pipeline Vandalism on Tuesday, said vowed to fish out illegal bunkers in the country, stating there will be no hiding place for those behind illicit act.
The Unit Commander-General of the IGP Special Task Force on Pipeline Vandalism, ACP Usman Kafani Jibrin made the assertion during its famiarization tour of some facilities.
ACP Jibrin who is newly appointed into the office by the Inspector-General of Police said he was in Warri to visit Officers and men of the Unit as well as familiarize himself with the locations.
ACP Jibrin also noted that the IGP task force has no problems with the Nigerian Navy, pointing out that the Navy is a sister agency to the Nigeria Police Force.
“Those who are vandalizing the resources of this country, definitely,they’re not going to have it the easy way.
He said, “it is not going to be business as usual” just as he vowed that the Police will prosecute illegal bunkers in its custody to serve as a deterrent to others.
“We don’t have any problems with the Navy. They are our sister Agency. We work together for the common interests of all.”
According to ACP Jibrin,”You must do the job that brought them here. We have a duty to protect lives and properties. That’s the mandate of every Policeman. That’s what we are telling them not play with that mandate. We have a work to do and me must do it to the best of our ability.
