A delegation of Oyo State government led by Governor Seyi Makinde’s deputy governor, Engr. Raufu Olaniyan, Barristers Abiodun Abdul-Raheem and Seun Ashamu, commissioners for land and energy respectively; were turned back from entering the Oluyole residence of late former governor Abiola Ajimobi, venue of the 8th day Fidau prayer for the deceased.
The accusations and counter-accusations that have trailed the handling of the burial of the former governor.
Security details attached to the venue were said to have resisted efforts to enter the venue, as they almost engaged in open confrontation with security details attached to Olaniyan.
Olaniyan, it was gathered left after making frantic calls to people believed to close to the family.
But in a swift reactions of Oyo State PDP to the prevention of the Deputy Gov, Engr Rauf Olaniyan, and others from attending Ajimobi’s 8 days Fidau dismissed the such reports.
In a statement signed by Engr Akeem Olatunji Publicity Secretary,Oyo State PDP said”To the unsuspecting members of the public, kindly disregard APC Media Team Press Release in its entirety, it wasn’t a private family affair because Otunba Alao Adebayo Akala and many others were there and the family were well informed in advance that the Deputy Governor would be leading the Government delegation to the event.
It was reported that the security personnels at the gate informed the Government delegation that there was an order from Madam not to allow the Government delegation into the venue.
Kudos to His Excellency Engr Rauf Olaniyan for displaying high level of maturity and Omoluabi ethos that he and His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde are known for.
The more the Governor try to extend hands of friendship the more they rebuff his good gesture.
