Operation Delta Hawk Will Not Distract Delta State Commitments To BRACED Commission…. Official

The Delta State Government on Monday, disclosed that setting up “Operation Delta Hawk” would not stop the state from participating actively in the proposed security outfit for South-South under the auspices of the “BRACED” Commission.‬

The Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu disclosed this while addressing journalists of Warri, Ughelli, Isoko and Sapele Correspondents Chapels in Warri.

The commissioner affirmed that Operation Delta Hawk would focus on internal security within the state to ensure total security of lives and properties.

He also reiterated, the Delta State commitments towards the security outfit by the BRACED ‬‪Commission.

Mr Aniagwu further stated that “Operation Delta Hawk” would concentrate mainly on internal security of the state — as the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration was committed to ensuring the security of lives and property in the state.

‪”We are committed to the setting up of the regional security outfit by the BRACED ‬

‪Commission, additionally we are also equipping security agencies, even when they are federal agencies because they are protecting our people,” Mr Aniagwu said.

The “BRACED states” is an acronym for Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Edo and Delta States.

The BRACED initiative with the attendant Commission was established as an umbrella development Agency to facilitate the Niger Delta States to foster economic cooperation and prosperity, issues of inter and intra infrastructural development for the region .

But over five years, after BRACE initiative and commission was established, there has been no form of achieved to ascertain its existence.
