Operation Burst Detains Officers Over Assault On Ibadan Residents

The Oyo State Joint Security outfit, Operation Burst has swung into action, following a video that went viral at the weekend, when an officer, Adesina was assaulting a lady at Beere in Ibadan.

 

On the torturing of some residents in Ibadan by men of Operation Burst, Governor Seyi Makinde had ordered an investigation and the said officers have been arrested.

Speaking Monday in Ibadan, the Commandant, Operation Burst, Captain Usolo apologised to the families of those assaulted by the erring officers.

The Commandant further said that the officer in question who assaulted a lady and other erring officers have been arrested and detained.

He added that new officers have been incorporated into the security outfit to replace those who erred.

Im the video that went viral, officer Adesina and his colleagues tortured a lady, while he was also seen barbing someone’s hair with scissors.

Residents of Beere community also accused the officers of harassing innocent citizens, who plait dreadlocks.

They added that some ladies were harassed over, what the officers perceived as indecent dressing.
