Oodua Group To Intervene In ANLCA Crises, Rallies Support For AGM To Hold

The Oodua Descendants Freight Forwarders Global Association on Monday, disclosed that plans are afoot to wade into the lingering crisis rocking the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) in a bid to proffering lasting  peace and harmony among the practitioners.

The foremost association in the last four years has been engulfed with crises which include, the Board of Trustees, Western Zone executives  and the National Executive Council (NEC).

Speaking in Lagos as at a press briefing, President, Oodua Descendants Freight Forwaders Global Association, Mr. Segun Adefioye affirmed that a 7-man committee will be constituted before weekend adding that the aggrieved members of ANLCA from both factions will be visited in furtherance to resolve the lingering crisis.

Adefioye lamented that members of ANLCA from the Yoruba extraction are deeply involved in the crisis over the years stressing the need for unity , love and harmony among them to thrive .

He further revealed that the reconciliation meeting with the aggrieved parties will commence from Monday 20th March -3 April, with the involvement of fourteen persons of the association saying the committee has two weeks to submit their report within the time frame.

While supporting the need for the association to hold the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is expected to take place in Lagos on Wednesday, the Oodua President reiterated that the meeting will further give room for consultation with the aggrieved parties thus to broker peace.

He affirmed that the lingering crisis affecting the mother association needs urgent intervention , calling on professional colleagues in the maritime industry to join hands to end the deepened dispute of ANLCA.

The.President said “with dismay, we were forced to call for this press briefing. We could all recollect that for almost four years now our brothers in ANLCA have been at loggerhead with each other which almost claims life, a lot of money spent, time wasted Oodua descerdants freight forwarders global assoclation has been watching and studying the situation with keen interest, we have made steps to have meeting with some of our elders on ihe issue but we were stylishly turned down.

“How long should we continue to live in crisis, we should remember the sons of whom we are.We called for this press briefing to let Oodua sons and daughters know what is going on among their sons in ANLCA that has negatively affected thousands of freight forwarders, and the steps we are about to take in the settlement/reconciliation process.

 

Speaking further, he maintained that’ ‘As we have taken a step today in the reconciliation process we implore them to embrace peace and attend the coming AGM to hear their view, while we on our path will continue with our reconciliation moves among the elders.

“It is our believe that, if we are in peace ANLCA will be peaceful. We have between now and 3 April to find solution to the crises. The recondiliation committee that will be constituted will commence reconciliation meeting from Monday 20th-3 April, with the following people.

The Oodua group ,while mentioning those to be engaged in the process of reconciliation are- Prince Taiye Oyeniyi, Alhaji Mustapha Taiwo, Prince Olayiwola Shittu, Alhaji Bojuri Akinsola, Dayo Azeez , Chief Odedeyi Sunday and Eniola Igbaraola.

Others are: Kayode Farinto, Alhaji Babatunde Mukaila, Taiwo Afolabi, Olumide Fakanlu, Bayo Oyekangun, Biodun Ogunfowora and Chief Oye Ariyo.

The group noted that an elaborate meeting hold that will engage the Igbo Maritime Forum after the two weeks time frame.
