Oodua Freight Forwarders Lobby South West Practitioners For Membership

The Oodua Descendant Freight Forwarders Global Association has called on practitioners from the South West in the maritime industry to align with the organization.

This, as part of measures to resolve some of the bottlenecks faced in the clearance of consignments from the seaports in Lagos State, by operators from the Yoruba Nation.

Speaking at the Oodua Freight Forwarders Day celebration held in Lagos on Thursday, Vice President, Oodua Descendant, Mr . Kayode Soetan stressed the need for practitioners to make themselves available for the association to assist in addressing any form of problem that might arise in the clearance of cargoes from the port.

Soetan who expressed concerns over the government’s bureaucracy in cargo clearance from the ports , said trade facilitation is key in cargo clearance from the port but noted that some operators

The Vice President who also doubles as the Chairman, Tin Can Island Chapter, Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN), said the the association is a unique body of practitioners.

He said that membership cut across the registered freight forwarding associations registered under the Council for the Regulations of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria CRFFN.

He said the group was established to fight for justice among freight forwarders in the sub sector adding that “This body was created to add value on Yoruba practitioners”.

Highpoints of the event was the presentation of award to the founder of the National Association of Government Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Dr. Boniface Aniebonam and President, Association of Registered Freight Forwarders in Nigeria ( AREFFN) Mr Daura Bala who are not from the Oodua descendants.
