Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has warned that hoodlums in the state that perpetuate arson and engage in the destruction of public and private property will have to contend with the law.

Governor Okowa gave the warning while inspecting buildings and other structures that were damaged in Asaba during this week’s unrest.

Governor Okowa called on residents of the state to be vigilant.

He called on all Deltans to work with security agencies and the government to develop strategies to arrest and prosecute those behind such evil acts.

“I urge our youth to stay vigilant. I know that this is not the intention of those that started the #ENDSARS protest. However, some criminal elements have come in to perpetrate this level of violence. It is unacceptable,” Governor Okowa said.
