Ogoni Group Congratulates Fubara’s Over Supreme Court Victory

An elite Group under the aegis Ogoni Welfare Association (OWA) has expressed satisfaction over the Supreme Court verdict in favour of the River State Governor Siminalayi Fubura.

ThankGod Meekor , Chairman OWA Lagos Branch, who extended the group’s congratulatory message to the executive governor of Rivers State and indigenes on the victory at the Supreme Court on Friday, called on the government of the state to address challenges faced by the people .

According to a statement on Saturday by the chairman , the verdict will give room for peace in the state , even as he urged the government to focus good governance.

He urged the State Governor to focus on people oriented services noting that the court victory was a clear indication of continuity in governance.

The statement affirmed that “Congratulations to the executive governor of Rivers state, Sir Fubura, and the good people of the state on the victory at the Supreme Court yesterday.

” It is important to note that with victory, the governor and government, the state will have fewer distractions and hence will completely focus on delivering good governance to the people.

The Chairman stated that:”We therefore look forward to a new, peaceful, and dynamic Rivers state. The true treasure base of the nation.”

Recall that the governor, in his brief media briefing yesterday, said Rivers state will aim to catch up with Lagos.

This is instructive as it now appears our dear state is set for real growth and development using the Nation’s commercial nerves centre and centre of excellence as its bench mark.
