NYSC Corps Members Allawee Increased To N33,000

Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, the director-general of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has finally cleared the air on the fixed amount as the monthly allowance for members of the scheme.

Speaking at his recent visit to Bauchi, Ibrahim said that the federal government has approved N33,000 as the new allowance for NYSC members.

The NYSC boss said that the upward review of the stipend is in line with the new minimum wage approved by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

He went on to say that payment of the allowance at the new rate has already been provided for in the 2020 national budget.
