NNS Beecroft Hands Over Illicit Seized Drugs To NDLEA
On Monday, 1 December 2025, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft successfully handed over 172 kilograms of seized cannabis sativa to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Marine Command.
The narcotics, packaged in four bags, were intercepted on 24 November 2025 during a timely operation led by the NNS Beecroft
According to a statement, Quick Response Team. while acting on credible intelligence, stopped a van suspected of transporting illegal substances near the Ijegun Waterside axis.

Represented by Executive Officer Captain Idongesit Udoessien, Commander Commodore PP Nimmyel emphasized that this seizure is part of the Nigerian Navy’s ongoing efforts under Vice Admiral Idi Abbas to combat narcotics trafficking and other illegal activities in Nigeria’s coastal waters.
He reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to collaborating with sister agencies to secure Nigeria’s maritime domain and protect lives and property.
The seized cannabis was formally handed over to NDLEA’s Deputy Commander of Narcotics, Morrison Udo, for further investigation and appropriate action.
Captain UdoEssien also lauded the professionalism of naval personnel and encouraged public cooperation to enhance maritime security.
