NNPP To Hold Presidential Primary On Wednesday In Abuja

New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has fixed Wednesday 8th, June 2022 for the Presidential primary in Abuja.

NNPP in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Agbo Major said the Special National Convention (Presidential Primary)  will hold at the Velodrome, MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja at 12 noon prompt.

Major said “Our great Party, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has become the most beautiful bride as millions of Nigerians gladly identify with the Party and its message of hope for a new Nigeria.

“NNPP is working hard to ensure it presents credible candidates who will meet the people’s aspirations for a better society and win various elections that will transform the nation.

The Publicity Secretary also said the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Party will hold on Tuesday 7th June 2022,at 1212 Polo Ground, Gwarinpa, Abuja at 7.00pm, adding that the meeting is mandatory for all NEC members of the Party as crucial issues will be discussed.

The Party’s  Publicity Secretary further  urged eligible Nigerians to register and obtain their voter cards, and ensure that they vote for candidates of their choice in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

According to him, Nigerians should resist the temptation of selling their votes for a mess of electoral porridge as witnessed in some political parties’ primaries where delegates mortgaged their conscience and voted for the highest bidder, thus denied the electorate the choice of credible candidates.

The party spokesman further condemned the recent massacre of innocent Church worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church Owo, Ondo State on Sunday 5th June 2022, describing it as barbaric, despicable and sacrilege of the worst order.

While expressing shock over the massacre  of innocent people, Major said “To kill dozens of worshippers and several others wounded inside a Church service is the height of insanity and wickedness.

“The party calls on security agents to quickly arrest these terrorists and their sponsors to face the full weight of the law.

“Security agents should sit up and take their constitutional duties seriously particularly this general election season bearing in mind that security and welfare of the people are the primary purpose of government as enshrined in Section 14(2)b of the 1999 constitution as amended.

“NNPP shares the grief of the families of the dead and pray for speedy recovery of the wounded in this gruesome attack against the fatherland.

The party publicist also condemned the killing and setting ablaze of a young vigilante in Abuja last Saturday over allegation of blasphemy without recourse to due process of the law.

Major said the danger in mob action is that innocent people could be killed on frivolous, spurious and unfounded allegations pointing out that Nigeria is governed by rule of law, not rule of might.
