The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has cleared the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, of alleged gross misconduct earlier levelled against him by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his associates, who had been masquerading as members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
This was contained in a statement signed by Dr. Agbo Gilbert Major,National Chairman, NNPP.
The party has also lifted the indefinite suspension placed on the governor in 2025, following thorough consideration of the report submitted by the committee set up to investigate the allegations against him.
Accordingly, all his rights and privileges as a member of the party have been fully restored.

“At an emergency meeting held earlier this morning at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja, the NWC, in consultation with the Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees of our great party, resolved to lift the indefinite suspension on Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
“He is to assume, with immediate effect, the position of National Leader of the party as the highest elected office holder on the party’s platform.
“All rights and privileges due to him as Leader of the party are to be accorded to him forthwith.The NWC, in consultation with the Founder, hereby directs that he should use his leadership position in our great party to ensure that we build on and consolidate our past achievements as we head toward 2027.
“The Founder, the NWC and, on behalf of the entire membership of our great party, hereby congratulate the governor for his boldness in speaking out against imaginary powers attempting to derail our party from building on our 2023 successes.
The NWC reiterates its position on the expulsion of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his Kwankwassiya group from the party and advises media practitioners to desist from further referring to him as National Leader of the party.
