NNPP House Of Assembly Candidate Defects To APC In Jigawa

In a surprising turn of events, Mubarak Ahmed, the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for the Jigawa State House of Assembly representing Kafin Hausa constituency has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State received Ahmed at the Government House in Dutse, the state capital, where he officially announced his defection to the APC.

According to a statement from Auwal D. Sankara , Commissioner Special Duties , on Friday, quoted Ahmed expressing his reasons for leaving the NNPP and joining the APC.

“I have decided to join the APC because I believe that the party represents the best interests of the people of Jigawa State. The policies and programs of the APC have had a positive impact on the lives of Nigerians, and I am confident that I can contribute more to the development of our state as a member of the APC,” Ahmed said.

Governor Abubakar welcomed Ahmed to the APC and expressed his appreciation for his decision to join the ruling party.

“I am delighted to receive Mubarak Ahmed into the APC. His decision to join our party is a clear indication that the APC is the party of choice in Jigawa State,” Abubakar said.

The Governor also assured Ahmed that he will be treated as a valued member of the APC and promised to provide him with all the necessary support to ensure that he succeeds in his political career.

“We will work together as a team to ensure that our party remains strong and continues to deliver on its promises to the people of Jigawa State. We welcome Mubarak Ahmed to our great party and we look forward to working with him towards the development of our state,” Abubakar added.

The defection of Mubarak Ahmed from the NNPP to the APC is seen as a major boost for the ruling party, as it seeks to consolidate its position ahead of the 2023 general elections.
