NLNG Strengthens Industry Ties At 2025 Nigerian Content Stakeholders’ Retreat
The Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) hosted the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) alongside other top leaders from the Nigerian oil and gas sector for its 2025 Nigerian Content Stakeholders’ Retreat at Finima, Bonny Island, Rivers State.
This week-long event reaffirmed NLNG’s dedication to fostering strong partnerships that promote indigenous capacity, local enterprises, and community development throughout Nigeria’s energy value chain.
According to a statement, themed “Deepening Stakeholders’ Collaboration for Sustainable Economic Development,” the annual retreat gathered senior executives, regulators, and local content advocates to reflect on progress and celebrate achievements in advancing Nigerian Content beyond regulatory compliance.
At the Appreciation Night, NLNG’s Deputy Managing Director, Olakunle Osobu, emphasized the company’s vision focused on leadership and legacy in Nigerian Content.
He highlighted NLNG’s strategic investments in indigenous technology and enterprises to drive innovation and sustainable growth within the sector.Osobu stated, “Our commitment goes beyond compliance; it is about creating lasting opportunities and strengthening local participation through collaboration with NCDMB and industry partners.”Representing NCDMB’s Executive Secretary, Engr. Abayomi Bamidele praised NLNG for sustaining the retreat as a platform for dialogue and joint growth.
He pointed to successful joint initiatives such as the Service Level Agreement and staff secondments as strong evidence of a productive partnership benefiting the broader economy.
The retreat featured a community contractors’ capacity development program, a mini exhibition for local vendors, a guided tour of the Train 7 project site, and social and sporting events fostering camaraderie between NCDMB and NLNG teams.
These activities enriched local enterprises’ exposure and bolstered Bonny Island’s economic development.
