NIWA , Navy Pledge To Improve Operational Efficiency Of Maritime Domain

The Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority Mr. Bola Oyebamiji said the cooperation between the Authority and the Nigerian Navy is vital to enhance security and improve operational efficiency in the country.

The MD disclosed this when he received students of junior 99 course (JC 99), Department of Maritime Warfare, Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji in Lokoja, Kogi state.

The Managing Director represented by Engr. Agbahi Fidelis, the General Manager Ports and Environmental services said “I am confident that our interaction will yield tangible outcome, enhancing our collective efforts to develop and protect Nigeria’s Maritime Domain”.

The students who are officers of Nigerian Navy were led by Navy Captain Y.G Goshi mni, the Chief Instructor Chari Division Jaji highlighted that the purpose of the visit was to afford the students the opportunity to consolidate the theoretical knowledge they have on the operation of the Nigerian Navy.

In a similar development, the Managing Director hosted participants of Study Group 1, from National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos on a strategic tour visit to the Headquarters in Lokoja recently.

Represented by the GM Ports and Environmental Services, Engr. Agbahi Fidelis said the tour brings together top Military Officers, Scholars and experts to share knowledge, insights and best practices in harnessing the economy, environmental and benefits of our water resources.

“This experience will not only enrich your understanding but also foster collaboration and innovation among participants”. He added.

The MD called on the participants to enhance knowledge sharing, experiences and perspective that will shape the future of our Inland Waterways and the Blue Economy.

The team was led by Alh. M.K Suleiman mni, Secretary of the Board of Governors and Administration of the Institute commended the Managing Director for the warm reception accorded them.
