The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji has said that the welfare of staff is his concern and priority.
The MD disclosed this in an interactive session with staff during his maiden official visit to the Warri Area office in Delta State on Wednesday 5th September, 2024.
He advised the staff to work harder in revenue generation in order to better their welfare.
The MD equally took a tour of the facilities (Authority’s yard, shoreline, and NIWA newly built concrete jetty.) and promised an upgrade to engender efficiency within the system.
He was accompanied by some management staff.
“Your welfare is one of my concern and priority,” said NIWA MD to staff, according to a NIWA official Facebook page post.
Meanwhile, NIWA officials on the 3rd of September, 2024, sensitised inland waterways users on safety in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The Sensitization/Enlightenment Campaign train also moved to Buruku, Benue State on the 31st August, 2024, while the transportation regulation and safety awareness campaign at Dundaye in Wamako Local Government area of Sokoto state lead by NIWA Sokoto Area Officers.
Even as no stone was left unturned at the transportation regulation and safety awareness campaign in Taraba State lead by NIWA Taraba State Area Office Manager, in collaboration with the Secretary to the Government of Taraba State.
