Nigerian Government Partners With Iraq On Security

The Nigeria government has expressed its readiness to partner with Republic of Iraq in the fight against insecurity in both countries.

 

Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola disclosed this today in Abuja, when the Ambassador, Head of Mission of Republic of Iraq to Nigeria, Mr. Anwer Saeed, paid him a courtesy call in his office.

Deputy Director , Press & Public Relations of the Ministry , Afonja Fatai Ajibola stated this in a statement on Thursday,June 16th, 2022.

 

The Minister assured Republic of Iraq of Nigeria readiness to partner with Iraq in the area of cultural ties and sharing of intelligent in tackling insecurity in both countries.

Earlier in his speech, the Ambassador, Head of Mission of Republic of Iraq Anwer Saeed, highlighted the historical relationship Nigeria and Republic of Iraq enjoyed in the past, he requested the Minister of Interior for the sustenance of the ties.

 

Mr. Saeed added that the two countries can adopt a memorandum of understanding on bilateral relationship in the fight against insecurity, for the mutual benefits of the two countries.

 

Dignitaries in attendance are, Director Citizenship and Business, Mrs Moremi-Soyinka Onijala, representing the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Director Planing Research and Statistic, (PRS), Mrs Binuyo Abiodun.
