Nigerian Female Seafarer Wins ITF Photography Prize 2024

The much talked about International Transport Worker Federation (ITF) Photography Prize 2024 in commemoration of World Maritime Day has been concluded with a winner.

Dorcas Uwem Jonah has been declared winner of the International Transport Worker Federation (ITF) Photography Prize 2024.

Picture submitted by the Seafarer shows rehydrating and recharging, a short break in the midst of a maintenance job.

The picture is described as a lady determined and smiling through the exhaustion.”

She was reported working onboard MV Defender .

Those that submitted their pictures via:
https://vote.itfglobal.org/en/vote#cast-your-vote were screened before the final verdict that led to Jonah’s taking the gold.

The ITF Photography Prize People’s Vote started back in September . Even as entries were received with amazing entries from transport workers across the world .

They were selected a shortlist of 35 photographs for the People’s Vote. They capture the incredible daily life of transport workers and show how important they are to keeping the world moving.

The competition runs until 16 October.
