NDLEA Honours IMAN Member , George Ndubisi As Ambassador

In recognition of his contribution to the fight against drug trafficking, High Chief Ndubisi George , Vice President of the Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN), has been honoured as an Ambassador of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
George, who is the Managing Director/CEO of Countryside Marine Services Limited, received the award from Omolade Faboyede, Deputy Commander General Narcotics, on Thursday.
At a brief ceremony held at the NDLEA office in Ikoyi, Lagos, Mitchell Ofoyeju, Commander of Narcotics at Tin Can Island Port, stated that the drug war can only succeed through collective responsibility, emphasizing that no agency can win the battle without collaboration.
The NDLEA official noted that Ugo has been instrumental and supportive in promoting community mobilization for drug abuse enlightenment, sensitization, and raising awareness about the implications of drug trafficking in Nigeria.
Ofoyeju said drug trafficking has become an international business and described Ugo as a credible partner who has amplified the fight against illicit drugs.

He praised George as a stakeholder in the maritime industry who has shown selflessness in combating drug abuse and trafficking.
The commander stressed the need for NDLEA to partner with IMAN to jointly rid the ports of illicit importation of hard drugs.
He affirmed that NDLEA would work diligently to encourage credible stakeholders in the industry as part of efforts to eliminate illicit drug importation at the ports.
Ofoyeju said, “The more people we have to honour, the greater our advantage in fighting the war against illicit drugs, drug abuse, and trafficking. His (Ugo’s) contribution has helped us successfully advance the campaign.”
Responding, George said the honour from NDLEA was special to him and his family, noting it came from a federal government agency. He expressed delight in associating with NDLEA.
He stated, “I have won a total of 83 awards since 2016, and this one from NDLEA is absolutely amazing and very important.”
He further urged association members to take the fight to illicit importers at the doorstep of ruthless shippers, adding that drug trafficking has the potential to destroy families, societies, and Nigeria’s economy
