NBS Ranks Delta As Second Least Poor State In Nigeria
The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Tuesday, ranked Delta State as the second least poor state in the country.
This was contained on the official Twitter handle of the state government.
The bureau, in its latest Poverty Index Report, ranked Delta State second after Lagos — stating that: “Lagos State has 4.50 per cent poverty head count rate and is closely trailed by Delta State with 6.02 per cent.”
On his reaction, the Commissioner for Information in Delta State, Charles Aniagwu, stated that the report was a reflection of the “Prosperity for all Deltans” agenda which has been vigorously pursued by the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration.
Similarly, the Delta Government announced that any citizen or resident that is seen in public without a face mask will be confined at one of the isolation centres in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, stated that this was part of the resolutions reached at a meeting of the Technical Committee for the Prevention of #Covid19 in Delta.
“We have the responsibility to protect our people; use of face masks which must be worn properly to cover the mouth and nose must be implemented,” the commissioner said.
