NAGAFF Seek ANLCA Collaboration To Complement 100% Compliance Taskforce Operations

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has called on the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Western Zone taskforce team to complement each others operations as part efforts in tackling issues bothering on compliance in clearance of cargoes from the seaports.

Recall that both associations have set up their respective compliance taskforces for the sole aim of compliance in customs and terminal operators activities.

The NAGAFF 100%Complaince team in the last three weeks have embarked on tour of commands and bonded terminals in a bid to underscore operational activities of the stakeholders.

Speaking against the backdrop of NAGAFF Presidential compliance taskforce team, Coordinator of the Western Zone, Dr. Fred Ajuzie maintained that collaboration among the two sister associations would help to solidify the operations

Ajuzie told our correspondent that the ongoing crusade in solidarity with ANLCA would further send a positive signal to private and public sector operators stressing the need to effect a positive change in the maritime sector.

He said “We flagged off our taskforce before any other association. ANLCA saw what we are doing to be noble and they went ahead to introduce theirs.

“But what I would have loved is for us to synergize our operations in order to fight the war. We don’t need to go separate ways to achieve a common goal in Port operations,”he suggested.

The former Chairman of Apapa Chapter of NAGAFF, recalled that synergy among the freight forwarding associations in time past yielded positive results , calling on the Western Zone taskforce team of ANLCA to have a rethink in collaborating with 100% taskforce team of NAGAFF.

Asked about his assessment of the taskforce since inception of the tour, Ajuzie who is the Managing Director, Pat-Fuze Nigeria Limited, said the 100% Compliance team might experience some level teething problem at the beginning of the crusade, but expressed optimism in future oppression.

“So far, I can say we are see observing their operations. Its not an easy task but we will continue to fine-tune our operations.

“We find out that its not everywhere you go that you are welcomed. Some people percieved us as if we were there to fight them, while some are saying why must it be this set of people embarking on this operations.
