NAGAFF President Reaffirms Commitment On Acquisition Of Permanent Secretariat
Apparently determined to fulfil election promises, President , National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) , Forwarder Tochukwu Esizi has again pledged to acquire a permanent secretariat before the end of his first tenure.
Esizi disclosed this on the occasion of Inauguration of the 6th National Standing Committee and Formation of NAGAFF Executive Council (NEC).
The NAGAFF President reiterated that “This is my first tenure in office and the subject matter is to take NAGAFF to the next level.
“One thing am sure about is that NAGAFF will have a landed property and am very sure about it.
“Before the end of my first term in office as NAGAFF President, I know for sure that the property will be acquired.
He said NAGAFF runs an all inclusive government adding that his administration has been able to dialogue with management of the Nigeria Customs Service as a veritable tool to facilitate trade and promote maritime trade.
According to him, NAGAFF management is working round the clock to fix a date for chapter elections as a way of promoting sustainable freight forwarding practice.
He noted that “What we see in NAGAFF today is a testament to their hard work. I assure you in unequivocal terms that my administration is determined to uphold, protect and consolidate on the good legacy of all past presidents of our enviable association.
“Our core vision and mission is to promote sustainable freight forwarding professionalism in Nigeria, thus we have anthologize individual practicing freight forwarders from all the NAGAFF network structures nationwide who will work together with me and my national officers to drive and shape policy formulation of NAGAFF for the next four years of my administration and under my leadership in continuity of our reinforcement strategies in sustaining freight forwarding professionalism in Nigeria.
“By doing this, we have ultimately formed the 6 National Executive Council of NAGAFF, in line with the supreme constitution of our great Association as entrenched in Chapter 6, Part C, Section 41 Subsection 2 (NEC); which stressed that the National Executive Council shall be the Supreme Governing Body of the Association whose decision shall be binding on all members of the Association and shall comprise of the National President, all the elected National officers, all National Standing Committee Officers and Chairmen& Secretaries of Chapters,”Esizi added.
Also speaking, Board Of Trustee Chairman of NAGAFF, Chief Chidiebere Enelamah, urged the newly inaugurated committee members to ensure to respect the leadership of Esizi noting that the current leadership of the Association will continue to sustain professionalism in freight forwarding practice in Nigeria.
He also called on the finance committee to further think outside the box on how to generate revenue for the association.
Highpoint of the event was the administration of inauguration oaths of allegiance and office; and presentation of appointed members of the National Standing Committee that will work closely with the national president of NAGAFF.
