NAGAFF Onne Chapter Elects New Executives, As Okoro Emerges Chairman

Members of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Fowarders ( NAGAFF ), Wednesday elected Dr.  Okey Okoro,   as it new chairman.

 

 

Dr. Okoro polled 90 votes to defeat his opponent,  the immediate past Chairman of the chapter,  Uwakwe  Christopher who got 6 votes.

 

Others elected include: Vice Chairman – Hypolite Christopher, Secretary – Michael Tuned Oladokun, Assistant Secretary – Chile Opara, Financial Secretary – Victor Osuoha,  Treasurer – Oluchukwu Okoye,  Public Relations Officer –  Okezie Nwoko, Welfare Officer – Ifeanyi Opara.

Others are, Presidential Liason Office (PLO) – Obiora Okonkwo,  Ethics & Discipline –  Emmanuel Eze,   Inspectorate & Intelligence – Cletus Anazor and  CLO – Matthew Nzekwe.

 

 

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman,  Onne Chapter of NAGAFF,  Dr.Okey Okoro gave thanks to God through the members gave him the mantle of leadership said this was a time to come together and work.

 

“This is not the time to swell off our heads. But this is a time to come together to work for much work awaits us.

“I want to assure you that I will re-write the history. Prior to this time, I had travelled and interacted with the Founder, President and father’s of this great association and have come to realise the enarmous expectations from us and I am ready to work”, he said.

 

Dr. Okoro however called on all to come up and sign up with them to success saying, “NAGAFF  is one family. Whether they won or lost, I must bring everyone on board”.

He promised to take the chapter to bring the chapter to its on Secretariat in the next two months, as well as ensure the welfare of its members, assisting them get what belongs to them in the sector, in addition to building their capacity, as an educationist.

 

Also, the immediate past Chairman Onne Chapter, who also contested the Chairmanship position  in the just concluded election, Fwdr Christopher Uwakwe   described the outcome of the election as an act of God and pledged his total, unflinching support to Dr. Okoro’s administration.

In his speech, the Board of Trustee Chairman of NAGAFF, Chief Chidiebere Enelemah who expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the election, declared that in NAGAFF winner must surely emerged, but added that there are no losers.

 

“NAGAFF remains one united family.  We are not going to have any looser. Somebody has to be the Chairman of the chapter, being the one with the highest votes cast, but that does not mean that we are divided.

 

“No one can take it away from NAGAFF  the intellect inherent in the membership of the association and each time we come for such an exercise, we always look out for the best and with the Founder of NAGAFF,  Dr. Boniface Aniebonam,  a technocrat, we will always emulate him.

 

” In  NAGAFF,  whether one wins or loses in an election, we will always work together to achieve one common goal, moving the association forward”, he stated.

Speaking also, the NAGAFF Zonal Vice President, East, Sir Francis Onwuchekwa who was overwhelmed with the conduct of the election which was free and fare,  remarked that every member was well prepared and everthing done perfectly, while advising the new Chairman to make every one relevant as well as have listening ear in other to succeed

 

The NECOM Chairman, Sir Okey Nerus advised winners to be magnanimous to incorporate others who lost in the election, stressing that in NAGAFF,  no loser, no winner, all is one united family.

 

On his part, the Legal adviser of NAGAFF,  Barrister Henry Orarotimi thanked the Founder of the Association, Dr Aniebonam for giving them the platform to serve and urged both the newly elected executive Council members and other members of NAGAFF  to study the association’s constitution to avoid acting against it’s provision.
