NAGAFF Lauds TTP Over Free Flow Of Cargo Movement Along Lagos Seaports

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has commended the Truck Transit Parks Limited (TTP) for the free flow of cargo movement along the port corridors in Lagos.

The President of the Nigerian Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, who led members of his committee , gave the commendation during a press briefing in Lagos on Thursday, September 11, 2025, as part of efforts to assess traffic flow improvements in the Apapa and Tin Can port corridors.

With the theme, on inherent challenges to traffic management in and around the ports in Lagos, in appraisal of effectiveness and efficiency of NPA/TTP on traffic flow, Tochukwu who was represented by the Secretary General of NAGAFF,Comrade Emeka Nwosu noted that TTP interventions in the last two years have addressed traffic issues and road management within the port city.

Highlighting the significant challenges faced before the intervention of Truck Transit Parks , Ezisi recalled how business operations were nearly crippled by severe traffic congestion, causing companies to relocate and property values to plummet.

According to him, various government efforts had failed to resolve these aforementioned issues.

He said “However, the engagement of TTP by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Ministry of Transportation brought about a turnaround. Within two years of TTP’s digital traffic management operations, traffic gridlock eased considerably, benefiting port operators and the broader economy.

According to NAGAFF, TTP has processed about 2.7 million truck movements through the Eto traffic management system over 49 months, reducing cargo transport costs by 65% and slashing truck turnaround times from weeks to less than three days.

A former President of NAGAFF, Uche Increase maintained that as an advocacy group, TTP daily truck evacuations rose from fewer than 50 trucks pre-Eto to over 400 trucks, boosting industries like FMCG and Oil & Gas.

“TTP’s operations have also improved trade facilitation by reducing export delays and eliminating the need for exporters to provide performance bonds. Real estate values in Apapa have increased, and the technology has created approximately 225 jobs and supported over 500 ancillary workers in the port environment.

While lauding these achievements, Uche emphasized the need for ongoing government commitment to sustain progress and urged authorities to maintain high service standards to continue reducing port costs and delays.

He concluded by affirming that TTP, as an indigenous solution provider, deserves continued support to solve Nigeria’s logistical challenges, thanking the press for their attendance and looking forward to further engagements.

Chairman, Special Fact finding committee of NAGAFF, Dr.Arthur Igwilo , stated that the umbrella body of freight forwarding practice in Nigeria will continue to monitor development in the port environment towards ensuring free flow of cargo movement in and out the port corridors.

Igwilo expressed disappointment over infrastructure deficit by some of the terminal operators at the seaports , while calling on the government to develop the political will to boost trade facilitation.
